In plain language: we only collect what you choose to give us — mainly through our contact form, or when you reach out about volunteering, donating, or attending a screening. We don't sell your data, and we don't run ad-tracking or analytics scripts on this site.
1. Who We Are
Radiance Hope Outreach ("RHO", "we", "us", "our") is a Ghana-based, community-focused organisation working to reduce the impact of diabetes through education, screening, and support programs across Ghana. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information collected through radiancehopeoutreach.org (the "Site").
2. Information We Collect
We keep data collection intentionally minimal. Depending on how you interact with the Site, we may collect:
- Contact form submissions — your name, email address, phone number, and the message you write, including if you select a reason such as volunteering, partnership, screening registration, or a donation question.
- Communication you send us directly — for example, if you message us on WhatsApp or by email to request bank or Mobile Money donation details.
- Event registration details — if you sign up for a screening, workshop, or support group session, we may keep basic contact and attendance information to organise the event.
- Testimonials and photos you consent to share — if you agree to have your story, name, or photo featured on the Site (for example on our Gallery or Testimonials sections), we use only what you've approved for that purpose.
We do not currently process donations or payments directly on the Site. Mobile Money and bank transfers happen through your own banking or mobile network provider, outside of radiancehopeoutreach.org, and are subject to that provider's own privacy and security practices.
3. How We Use It
We use the information you share with us to:
- Respond to your enquiry, question, or request;
- Coordinate volunteering, partnerships, screenings, workshops, and support group sessions;
- Confirm and acknowledge donations you tell us about;
- Improve the accuracy and usefulness of our educational content and programs;
- Meet legal, safety, or reporting obligations where relevant.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted advertising.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
This Site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It does use a small amount of on-device local storage for two purely functional purposes:
- Caching blog articles on your device so pages load faster on return visits;
- Powering offline access through our Progressive Web App (PWA) service worker, which stores core pages so the Site remains usable with a poor or no internet connection.
Neither of these mechanisms sends information about you back to us or to any third party — the data stays on your own device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
5. Third-Party Services
To keep the Site fast and consistent, a small number of pages load resources from trusted third-party providers:
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Fonts | Loads the Inter and Playfair Display typefaces used across the Site. |
| Font Awesome (cdnjs) | Loads the icon set used throughout the Site. |
These providers may log standard technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) as part of serving these files, under their own privacy policies. We do not control, and are not responsible for, their data practices. We do not embed any social media trackers, advertising pixels, or analytics scripts on this Site.
6. Sharing Of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in these limited circumstances:
- With partner healthcare providers, but only when you've asked us to make a referral or connect you with care, and only with your consent;
- With volunteers or staff directly involved in coordinating the program, screening, or event you've contacted us about;
- Where required by Ghanaian law, regulation, or a valid legal request.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable, common-sense steps to protect the information you share with us, including limiting who has access to messages and records. That said, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — particularly for information sent over third-party channels such as WhatsApp, SMS, or email, which are governed by those providers' own security practices.
8. Children's Privacy
Our educational content is intended for a general audience, including families. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without a parent or guardian's involvement. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will remove it.
9. Your Rights & Choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
- Delete your information from our records, including removing a testimonial or photo you previously consented to share;
- Stop contacting you about a specific program or update.
To exercise any of these choices, reach out through our Contact page — we'll respond as quickly as we can.
10. Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our programs and this Site evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, please get in touch through our Contact page. We're based in Accra, Ghana, and serve communities nationwide.
